Our story
Rodshare was launched in March 2026 as a solo project by Afsar, an Indian developer who was tired of one truth on Indian roads: most cars on a long drive carry just one person. Fuel is wasted, money is burned, and traffic keeps growing. The fix wasn't another taxi app — it was a marketplace where drivers already going somewhere could share their seats with people heading the same way.
Built from a single intercity route, with every early driver hand-verified one at a time. Today Rodshare is live across all 28 Indian states and 8 union territories, with a web app and Android mobile app in 5 languages — English, हिन्दी, اردو, العربية, and नेपाली. Still designed, coded, and shipped by one person.
Independent, lean, and still being built one feature at a time. Every detail you see — KYC verification, real-time location sharing, two-way ratings, boarding OTP, transparent fare calculation — exists because a real Rodshare commuter asked for it.

That includes: designing and building the RESTful backend APIs and database architecture; provisioning, hardening, and scaling the cloud server infrastructure; network engineering (DNS, reverse proxies, load balancing, SSL/TLS); cybersecurity (KYC verification pipelines, JWT-based authentication, encrypted secrets, payment security); automation and CI/CD deployment pipelines; the Flutter Android mobile app; the Next.js multi-language web platform, including the programmatic SEO architecture behind thousands of city and route pages; and the real-time GPS location systems used during every ride.
